The 29-MW Busch Ranch Wind Farm is AltaGas’ first wind farm in the U.S. Located in Huerfano County, Colorado the facility was commissioned in October 2012.

AltaGas owns a 50 percent working interest with the local utility Black Hills/Colorado Electric Utility Company LP (“Black Hills Energy”). The power generated from AltaGas’ interest is sold pursuant to a 25-year renewable energy purchase agreement with Black Hills Energy.

The wind farm consists of 16 turbine generators, a substation and a 115 kV transmission line. The wind farm has abundant wind resources and is ideally located in close proximity to an existing transmission system that serves 94,000 energy customers in southern California.
