Run-of-river hydroelectric projects support AltaGas’ long-term strategy to meet growing energy demand by supplying the market with clean, renewable electricity generation. 

Operational

AltaGas has a 97 percent interest in the 9.8 MW McNair Creek run-of-river hydroelectric project and has a 25 percent effective interest in the 7 MW Boston Bar run-of-river hydroelectric generation facility.

Under Construction

Forrest Kerr
AltaGas’ 195 MW Forrest Kerr run-of-river hydroelectric project is under construction and is expected to be in operation by mid-2014.  

Under Development

McLymont Creek
AltaGas is targeting an output of 66 MW for the McLymont Creek run-of-river hydroelectric project which is under development and is expected to be in operation by November 2015.

Volcano Creek
AltaGas is targeting an output of 16 MW for the Volcano Creek run-of-river hydroelectric project which is under development and is expected to be in operation by November 2015.
