Reporting to the Manager Project Management Office, the Project Manager will be responsible for planning and executing IT and business projects successfully - on time and within the approved budget, scope and quality.

Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Plan and execute projects;
  • Manage multiple projects and project teams;
  • Define project scope, duration, effort and cost;
  • Manage project budget;
  • Create detailed project plans and manage change requests;
  • Communicate project status to team members, management and executives including the project Steering Committee and Project Sponsor;
  • Work with business and technical teams;
  • Problem solve and escalate issues;
  • Coordinate all project teams and Working Committee meetings and report project status;
  • Coordinate, organize and track all project activities so that projects are delivered on time and on budget;
  • Develop and maintain all project documentation including risk management, resource management, change management and project plans;
  • Maintain regular communication with the project team, business stakeholders and Program Manager;
  • Assist with the development and sustainment of the Project Management Office.

Qualifications:

  • University degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration or Accounting/Finance; 
  • Project Management Certificate;
  • Certified Associate Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) designation would be an asset;
  • 5+ years experience in project management, ideally in application development;
  • Working knowledge of International Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) practices;
  • Track record of delivering successful projects and experience working on mid-sized projects;
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate teams;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and facilitation skills;
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal direction and within a team environment.
