AltaGas requires an enthusiastic, innovative and motivated individual to join our team at the Younger Extraction Plant in Taylor BC, reporting to the Plant Manager. As a member of the Communication, Energy and Paper workers of Canada Local 686B, the candidate will work a 4 day compressed 37.3-hour workweek.  AltaGas Ltd. offers a competitive salary, coupled with a comprehensive medical and dental program, savings plan and pension plan.  

Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Day-to-day maintenance and trouble shooting of equipment as required
  • Complete preventative maintenance on equipment as required
  • Schedule work activities/tasks and work schedules for team members
  • Responsible for budget planning
  • Responsible for controlling costs and monitoring expenditures

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent education.
  • A dual instrument/electrical ticket are preferred, however, consideration will be given to applicants who have an Inter-Provincial journeyman instrumentation certificate.
  • A strong working knowledge of instrumentation is a must.
  • 3 or more years experience in a Heavy Industrial setting. 
  • Natural gas liquids or gas processing experience is preferable.
  • Experience in maintaining Distributed Control Systems, Programmable Logic Control systems, liquid and gas flow measurement systems, and gas chromatograph systems would be a definite asset.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid work ethic and a motivation to produce superior results in workmanship and effort.
