Buyer - Temporary One Year Term

Reporting to the Manager Purchasing, the Buyer will provide lower total cost of ownership through reduced pricing in materials, improved quality of product and increased service from suppliers, while standardizing policies and procedures across the organization. 

Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Identify qualified sources of supply for goods and services;
  • Conduct market intelligence to optimize pricing and the selection of goods and services;
  • Prepare bid packages, evaluate and normalize proposals;
  • Negotiate and execute agreements;
  • Effectively manage goods or services and the respective supplier relationships;
  • Facilitate cross-functional sourcing projects;
  • Work effectively in a team environment and with all levels of leadership;
  • Apply policies/practices that support the purchase and supply of goods and services.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years experience within the Purchasing field;
  • Completion of Level 1 of PMAC; 
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and customer service skills;
  • Analytical, organized, adaptable, and self-motivated; 
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
